Sāvitrī gāyatrīmantra Second draft | Fabio Milioni - Academia.edu

academia.edu

Gāyatrī is a sacred mantra of the Vedic tradition, which has its roots in Śrūti. With this work, intended primarily for Italian-speaking readers, we wish to draw attention to the origins and significance of this sacred mantra, which has deep roots in Vedic Revelation and Tradition, hence of Sanātana Dharmā, the eternal law of the Harmony of cosmos. Its trivialization and use too often are characterized by superficiality, isolating it from the existential path of which it constitutes a gem of inestimable value. As the reader may note, the gāyatrī-sāvitrī is an integral part of the sacred texts, of which we will quote extensive quotations. Respecting the sources, we will make available as far as possible the original Sanskrit text and its transliteration: even without knowing this sacred language, the simple visualization constitutes an act of devotion.
