Bhagvad Geeta : Self realization.

Meditation BasicsAwakening of Consciousness

In the sixth chapter of SreemadBhagwad Gita Lord Shree Krishna articulates in two verses “one’s mind can be his best friend and can be its adversary”. The Lord further annunciates “the person who has prevailed over the impurities of mind and won it, he has won over the Almighty himself and such a person will always remain in equanimity even in the wake of bliss or misery, respect or vilification”.

Greed, unrestrained passion, animosity, envy are indeed the weapons of self-destruction. Calamities do occur but being associated with these defilements destroys ones personality. Meditation makes a person realize the essence of life with a practical approach and the true connection with the Almighty. A Muslim calls AsallamValekum, a Hindu Says “Jai Shree Krishna” , a Sikh effuses “Vahe Guru Da Khalsaa ,Vahe Guru Di Fateh”, and a Christian greets “Hallelujah”. These sacred terminologies are verbal manifestations of one’s devotion but sometimes it becomes a mere formality if it is said without devotion.

Mediation helps to wipe out the impurities of mind and make oneself a better person. It helps people understand the importance of life and realize their mistakes. On many instances through deep meditation, the tears of repentance and realizations cascade down their cheeks washing the dirt accumulated inside. Spiritual awakening gives momentous significance so that the ghost of criminal instincts never visits a person again in his life. Meditation impart invaluable lesson of introspection wherein an individual is taught to fight the storm of the inner conflicts and recognize the substance of life which is much above the pollution of lust, greed and unrestrained materialistic needs.
Life is a precious gift of God. It is the conscientious duty of a person to understand the reality of life refraining from the wicked activities that will ultimately take one to the inferno called imprisonment of all kinds.
