Classes of devotees.

Lord Krishna has mentioned about four kinds of devotees. The first has been termed as Aarth (one who is distressed). The second is Artharthi,( one who aspires for wealth and material gains).

The third Jigyasu are those individuals who are inquisitive to know about the identity of GOD. The fourth is Gyani, those who possess the transcendental knowledge of GOD and commits to devotional service to GOD.

All these devotees indulge in devotion and worship but their nature of devotion would totally be different. Lord Krishna states that all these devotees with their own devotional virtues are beloved to HIM but amongst the four classes of devotees, a Gyani (the knowledgeable) is like HIS own self. A Gyani by discarding all myths completely surrenders to HIM and gets engrossed in the welfare of human kind.

A true Gyani could be an altruist, a philanthropist. He/She would be in complete knowledge about the purpose for which he has been sent to earth by Lord Krishna. The Gyani would be in cognition of the fact that he is just an instrument on this planet and the command is in the hands of Lord Krishna who appear in every era for establishing Dharma (actions for human rights protection).

The deameanour of a Gyani (erudite) would be in similitude of water. Such a person would mold himself/herself according to the circumstance. If poured in a cup the person would take the shape of cup. If in a river, the Gyani would flow within its boundaries. Every human being is blessed with knowledge by the Almighty but coming in contact with the material world and due to the urge for fulfillment of materialistic desires, a person becomes oblivious about his divine nature and the proximity to GOD.
