Philosophy of YogaYoga for WellbeingYoga for Emotions

The nature of a cultured man is to react in a healthy or friendly way to the perceptions or stimuli he receives from the outside world. But, what makes a Man cultured? What is Culture?

Man’s control of nature external is called civilization, his control of nature internal is called culture. A mind (of flickering nature) becomes healthy when it is happily married or under the loving discipline of the rational thinking faculty — the Intellect.

The intellect’s ability to properly apprehend a situation is greatly veiled when the mind superimposes fears and various emotions upon what is being perceived. Thus, we see a paranoid person who doubts even his mother or a care taker who is attending to his needs. We must include the psyche along with the biological factors that causes such a condition in his or her personality.

When alienated from a situation, judgement will always makes us feel superior or inferior — these are the only two outcome. Superiority feeling may want us to bring oppression and control, due to fear of losing the superior position. Inferiority feeling causes insecurity, delusion and self-doubt. What we view here as this man or that man will be revealed as the Self’s prime form upon investigation, because the life which enlivens everyone is one and the same. Then there cannot be question of judgement with regard to our position (intellectually, morally and emotionally or all the ways that makes us an Individual), but only being a part of what is the common need and having an attitude of selfless dedicated co-operative endeavor.

Thus, the major obstacle that arises are not always external. It is when we re-adjust our vision to a much clearer and harmonious one that even the mighty problems facing humanity can be easily solved.
