Yoga : Unification with GOD

Science and MeditationWisdom and Experience

The GOD almighty had stated about the attributes of a Yogi. Lord Krishna has used the term Gyan Vigyan. Meditation itself is a science. As scientists reconnoiter to explore novel matters, a person in meditation is in constant practice to acquire true knowledge and merge with the Supreme GOD.

A yogi is a person who with intelligent practice procured the knowledge of self realization and has attained transcendence through self discipline and abstinence. Such a person would ever stay in divinity and would be contented with whatever knowledge he/she has acquired. The person would be devoid of greed, lust, anger or desires and will always be disciplined in all his works. Such a being would never plunge into aspirational river and for him every material be it pebbles or stone, gold, diamond or any other object will be looked as same. That’s the state of supreme consciousness.

In the wake of clamour of senses, a Yogi would never react by acting nor even get engrossed in actions pondering about the fruits of the performed actions. Lord Krishna advocates Arjuna to become a Yogi and tells him that the goal of meditation is to get assimilated into HIM.

In the current scenario, Yoga has been limited to physical Asanas(Postures). Physical attributes are just spiritually refined techniques in order to acquire physical fitness. Indeed, these physical Asanas render immense benefits to get rid of physical incapacitation and regulation of mind to certain extent but Yoga is more than physical exercises. The Yoga day celebrated on June 21st is an occasion to reach each and every individual’s mind through meditation and discover the presence of GOD in everyone. The moment we discover the presence of GOD in everyone, the same juncture, a person would come in union with Godliness and become empty of any desire.

Yoga is a medium to unite with the Supreme GOD and for that it is incumbent to forgo every materialistic desire that crops up in mind and rigorously practice to get into unification with the GOD. A true Yogi’s persona can be identified through his demeanour and verbal expressions. The verbal expressions would reflect his/her inner space that would be that of serene river without the splashes of desires.
