Take a deep dive into Ceekr
What‘s the solution to curb crime? Why is our society crime prone? These are questions which need introspection, constructive deliberations, implementation of stringent measures and most importantly a complete overhauling of the mind.
But it is not easy until a person’s mind is purified through extensive understanding of the spiritual science i.e. Bhagavad Geeta. A person needs to comprehend the root cause behind occurrence of crime. Rape, molestation, murder, robbery, domestic violence, extortion are just names of criminal acts. We have to find out the real culprit and the real culprit is one’s own mind.
This is where the significance of the supreme text of consciousness Shreeemad Bhagvad Gita manifests as of science of life. In Shreemad Bhagwad Gita, Lord Krishna states: “Your mind can be your best friend and also your worst foe”. If the mind is not tamed then the materialistic desires would arrest the person and he would try rigorously to achieve the things that are not meant for him.
Why a person does falls in the swamp of a predicament? It is because of his quality of negative thoughts that translates into physical action. An impractical desire arises in mind. The mind yearns to achieve the desire. Brain (Budhi) justifiably discourages him to relinquish the desire as it is not tenable. But the mind keeps on aspiring for the same. If the person is not able to achieve that he desired for, anger crops up in mind.
The miscarriage of his plans to fulfill his desires further escalates the quotient of anger in him. In such a situation where anger dominates the mind, the person’s intellect gets destroyed and he fails to distinguish between righteous deed and malicious deed i.e Dharma or Adharma. Besieged in a stage of cerebral blackout, the person commits a crime and gets drowned in the ocean of misery.
If my mind has housed ill will and animosity against another person then my mind would be a whirlwind of emotional upheavals. I would constantly be contriving a strategy to harm the other person. As my thoughts and the subsequent actions were negative in nature i .e Tamo Guna in nature, I would inevitably face trouble in accordance with the Laws of Nature.
The just mentioned episode could be related to every human being. This is what Krishna explains in Gita. Here, I have not addressed Krishna as Lord Krishna because the moment Krishna dons the address as Lord Krishna then we pick up the tendency to place him in a temple.
In Bhagwad Geeta, an established fact is evinced by Krishna “ there is not a single being on this earth who is not bound with the laws of nature i.e Sato Guna, Rajo Guna, and Tamo Guna”. Every single deed performed by a person is associated with any of these three laws of nature and accordingly he receives either reward for his good deed or punishment for his bad deeds. Now, these laws of nature do not segregate persons according to their caste or creed but mirror a man of his own identity.

Our mind has two functions. It sustains life and makes choices. Our Choice Making Mind (CMM) exists in 351 versions. Think of it like a human software operating system that operates our nervous and hormonal (endocrine) systems, which, in turn operate the rest of us and take all our decisions. You can also think of it as 351 versions of your mindset. We use one version at a time and these tend to change every 30-40 days, depending on our environment and our resolve.
Everything we do we, we do use our Attention and Energy. In fact your attention and energy are the two sides of the same coin. You choices follow your attention at the level of your mind, and your actions use energy at the level of your body.
If you pay more attention to your emotions, your energy gets wasted in excessive feelings or over thinking. This can also lead to illness. This automatically reduces the energy available for learning, discipline, problem-solving etc. On the other hand, if you give more attention and energy to learning and problem solving, you automatically manage your emotions and thinking better.
The Attention and Energy balance shows how much of your energy and attention is dominated by cognitive functions like learning, discipline, problem solving and how much is be stuck in over thinking, compulsive patters and emotional overflows.
