    Punishment given for a sin is only to change the mind of the soul and purify it. There is no trace of revenge in this. The hell is an indication of the intensive love of God to the souls through which God wants to reform the souls.     A human being will definitely reap the fruits of karma irrespective of good or bad, righteous or unrighteous. You might have heard the story of Angulimaal .His acts were prodigiously barbaric. He used to kill people and used to cut their fingers and wear those as a garland.     We inherit KARMIC DEBT which is called Sin by our thoughts and actions.

    Once we did that, they become part and parcel of our KARMIC DEBT.

    But we can NEUTRALIZE Karmic debt to a very large extend by our future SELFLESS thoughts and actions.

    Though NIshkama Karma ( selfless actions without any motive at all) and abandoning the fruits of actions is the best way to eradicate Karmic debt called sin.
